SUMMARY:The Brothertown Indian Nation: Yesterday and Today
DESCRIPTION:This summer only!  The unique history of the Brothertown Indians goes back to the 1700’s\, when remnants of seven different tribes from the east coast came together to live as Brothers\, in an effort to avoid further decimation and relocation. This exhibit\, curated by members of the Brothertown Indian Nation\, shares the Tribe’s history and culture\, and their centuries-long connection to this area.  The Brothertown are the 12th tribe currently located in Wisconsin. The exhibit includes crafts\, clothing\, photos\, maps\, and medicines. There is an interactive area for all ages. Current issues\, activities\, and events of this resilient and storied People will also be featured. Don’t miss this remarkable presentation depicting the history and culture of the Brothertown Indian Nation!

DESCRIPTION:Do you have your Halloween costume ready? Dress up and bring your bucket for an afternoon of trick-or-treating around our historic village from noon to 3pm on Sunday\, October 23! In addition to having lots of candy\, we’ll be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project to ensure a treat or trinket for every kid. This event will also feature fall festivities such as gourd bowling\, pumpkin ring toss\, pumpkin golf\, kids’ crafts\, and other fall fun! Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item\, which will be donated to the Fondy Food Pantry. \nThis event is free for Fond du Lac County Historical Society members. DESCRIPTION:The deadliest fire in US history happened right here in Wisconsin! Come hear David Siegel\, Belgian Heritage Center speaker and Green Bay Fire Fighter\, as he takes you back to the Great Fire of 1871. Often overshadowed by the Peshtigo and Chicago fires\, this inferno ravaged the Belgian settlements in Brown\, Door\, and Kewaunee Counties. The transformation of the Belgian communities that occurred through rebuilding is an inspiring story everyone should know. DESCRIPTION:The Galloway House and Village is about to become a winter wonderland! Stroll through our Christmas Market for festive food\, drink\, and handcrafted goods. See the Galloway House and Village adorned with lights. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus while listening to Christmas carols. Decorate cookies while sipping hot chocolate. Bring the kids for fun winter crafts and games. \nIn partnership with Festival of Trees\, Christmas in the Village will showcase local nonprofits\, as each organization decorates a unique tree for display around our historic village. These decorated trees will be placed up for silent auction\, with funds supporting the non-profit that decorated them. All attendees will get to vote for their favorite decorated tree! \nChristmas in the Village will be open:\nSaturday\, December 11 from 2-10pm\nSunday\, December 12 from 12-5pm \nThe Christmas Market with handcrafted goods will be open ONLY on Saturday from 2-7pm. \nBut don’t leave just yet – Page Four will perform live music from 7-10pm! \nFestive food and drink will be available for the entire event\, including mulled wine\, hot cider\, and hot cocoa! \nFood options include chili\, beef tips over mashed potatoes\, pulled pork sandwiches\, burgers\, and more! \nSome parking is available at the Galloway House and Village. Overflow parking is available at neighboring Pier Elementary School\, and a Park & Ride from Lighthouse Christian Church (located at 401 S National Ave in Fond du Lac and running every 10-15 minutes).  \nAdmission covers both Saturday and Sunday entry! \nAdmission:\n$5 per person\n$15 per family (2 adults and their minor children)\nChildren 3 & under are FREE\nFond du Lac County Historical Society members are FREE!

SUMMARY:Trick-or-Treat in the Village
DESCRIPTION:Do you have your Halloween costume ready? Dress up and bring your bucket for an afternoon of trick-or-treating around our historic village! In addition to lots of candy\, this event will feature fall festivities such as pumpkin painting\, gourd bowling\, pumpkin ring toss\, a hay bale jungle gym\, and other historic games and activities. \nThis fun event will take place on Sunday\, October 24\, from 12-3pm\, and will be free for Fond du Lac County Historical Society members! Entry for non-members will be $5 per person\, with free admission for children 3 and under. A family pass will also be available for $15\, covering admission for two adults and their minor children. Guests are welcome to bring a non-perishable food item\, which will be donated to the Fondy Food Pantry.

DESCRIPTION:Tickets to this year’s Ghost Hunting Tours are sold out. If you’d like to be added to our email subscriber list to stay up to date on our future events\, please contact us! \nThe Fond du Lac County Historical Society\, in partnership with Caper Company\, will bring thrills and chills to the Galloway House and Village on October 22-23! Paranormal investigators will guide visitors through our historic village\, using digital voice recorders\, EMF detectors\, temperature gauges\, a Spirit Box\, infrared cameras and more. Each tour begins with a ghost hunting tutorial and finishes with a debrief and souvenir polaroid picture from the event. \nNo equipment or ghost hunting experience is required. Come with an open mind and be ready to enjoy a unique experience! \nTickets will be sold online at www.hometowntickets.com/gallowayhouseandvillage beginning on Friday\, October 1st. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Individuals must be 18+ to participate. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 1st Annual Apple Treat Walk\, presented by Annie’s Fountain City Cafe and the Galloway House and Village! This family friendly event will invite participants to different Fond du Lac businesses to try an apple treat at each location. In the spirit of friendly competition\, ticket holders will vote on their favorite treat. Following the walk\, the Galloway House and Village will host a wrap-up event on the grounds featuring fall festivities for the family! All attendees are welcome to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Fondy Food Pantry. \nThe Apple Walk will take place on Saturday\, October 9\, from 9am-12pm. The After Party event at the Galloway House and Village will go from 11am-2pm. Tickets for the Apple Walk are available online at https://www.hometowntickets.com/apple for $6 per adult and $4 per child. Ticket includes admission to both the Apple Walk and the After Party\, and all proceeds benefit the Fond du Lac County Historical Society.
