Stout Music Center

Clarence Russell “Russ” Stout, was born in Fremont, Ohio, and later lived in Fond du Lac, WI. He was the last, and best known banjoist-guitarist with Coon-Sanders Nighthawks. [The Coon-Sanders Nighthawks are known as the band that made radio famous]. In World War I Stout served with the U.S. Navy. Before joining the Nighthawks, he played with Leo R. Davis’s Orchestra, in Kansas City. He also played with the Arch Adrian Orchestra, and operated Stout Music Center, on East First Street, later moving to 97 Forest Ave. He sold his Stout Music Center to June Lefeber, who continued to operate it for many years.
