TRICK OR TREAT IN THE VILLAGE

TRICK OR TREAT IN THE VILLAGE

Kids and adults alike took advantage of a beautiful afternoon recently to celebrate fall at the Galloway House and Village! Our annual Trick or Treat in the Village took place Sunday, October 23 and offered a wide variety of activities.

Visitors made the rounds to collect candy or a toy, then had the opportunity to play fall-themed and old-fashioned games like pumpkin golf, gourd bowling, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin checkers, graces, Jacob’s Ladder, and Pick-Up Sticks. Several crafts kept creative kids busy as they made their own pumpkin guts, bats that could hang from a tree, fall scene pictures, leaf people, and painted pumpkins.

Tom Lenz, of the Department of Natural Resources, challenged visitors to match up the fur, tracks, and scat of local wildlife. This activity, new this year, proved to be very popular; kids and their parents worked together to figure out the puzzle of who left the tracks and scat, and what color their fur was!

We’d like to extend a big thank you to Tom and our many volunteers for helping make Trick or Treat in the Village so much fun. We couldn’t have provided this awesome family event without you. We hope each and every volunteer and guest had a wonderful time!

Thank you to Kim Everson and Gloria Nelson for the fun photos!
